Direct Costs

Personal Budget
Students are responsible for all travel costs, books, supplies, and personal expenses, as well as the costs associated with international health insurance. At Lake Erie College, students spend an average of $1,000/year on books and supplies, $1,000/year on personal expenses, and $1,000/year on travel and insurance. An estimated personal budget for international students is $3,000/year. Due to federal visa regulations, we are also required to have proof that a student has sufficient financial resources to cover his or her personal budget for the year. This means that we need to see proof of financial support for an additional $3,000 on top of the direct costs. The personal budget amount is NOT payable to the College; however, when a student is applying for financial aid, they need to show that amount before the College is able to issue the I-20 form.
Application, Admission and Tuition Deadlines
Below is a table of deadlines for international students. These deadlines are meant as guidelines in order to encourage timely submissions of all application materials for international students.
While Lake Erie College still would consider a prospective international student's application after a deadline has passed, abiding by this schedule will help make the process of certifying a student for a student visa and ensuring their timely arrival at the Lake Erie College campus as efficient as possible.
